Understand what's in every ClimateNest report — what we analyse, how we score risk, and how to interpret the results.
Each ClimateNest report is an AI-powered analysis of a specific Australian residential address. We combine authoritative government climate datasets — including Bureau of Meteorology (BoM), Geoscience Australia, and state planning authority data — with advanced reasoning to produce a property-level risk picture.
Reports cover five key climate risk categories, each scored from 0–100. An overall composite score summarises the property's risk profile. Every report includes a plain-English summary and actionable recommendations tailored to the identified risks.
Riverine and surface water flood analysis using Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) flood mapping data, historical flood event records, and terrain modelling.
Vegetation proximity, McArthur Fire Danger Rating, fire weather index, and historical fire footprint data from state fire authorities.
Projected number of days above 35°C by 2050 and 2080, urban heat island effect modelling, and thermal comfort analysis.
Sea level rise projections from IPCC AR6, shoreline recession rates, storm surge modelling, and distance to coastline analysis.
Historical cyclone track data, projected intensity and frequency under climate change scenarios, and wind speed exceedance probabilities.
Each risk category is scored on a 0–100 scale. An overall composite score is computed as a weighted average of all category scores, reflecting the combined risk profile of the property.
Minimal risk. No immediate action required.
Some risk identified. Monitor and consider mitigation.
Significant risk. Action and specialist advice recommended.
Critical risk. Consult experts before purchasing or developing.
Each report concludes with a set of actionable recommendations tailored to the identified risks. These may include suggestions to consult specialists (flood engineers, bushfire consultants), review insurance options, investigate council planning overlays, or undertake specific due diligence before purchasing.
